Job description

*KS1 Teaching Assistant at a primary school in the Borough of Greenwich*

*Full-Time post, Monday - Friday*

*£60 - £70 per day*

This creative primary is a short walk from Greenwich Train Station, and is easily accessible via public transport. The school was rated 'Outstanding' in 2016-2017 and has a fantastic reputation for providing their staff with excellent support, therefore as a Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 1, you will benefit immensely from learning and working in a great teaching and learning environment. The ideal candidate should be able to display strong literacy and numeracy skills, you will have knowledge of the National Curriculum and will be able to confidently support children 1:1 and in small groups. The Individual should ideally be a graduate who is looking for experience or someone with prior experience working with children in KS1 or childcare and is capable of helping pupils keep up levels of attainment.

Person requirements

  • Minimum GCSE grade A* - C
  • Graduate with a degree ( Psychology, Childhood or Criminology would be an advantage)
  • CACHE Level 3 ( Preferable but not essential)
  • A Motivated and Confident individual
  • Ability to help in the controlling of pupils in classroom settings and in the playground
  • Any previous experience working with children of mixed abilities would be an advantage
  • A drive to learn more about education and developing learning

The role is subject to the candidate providing a DBS or willing to take one.
