Key Stage 1 Intervention 

  • Part-time position (five mornings per week, 8.30am - 1.00pm)
  • Welfare included in this role

  • GBP10.20-GBP11.20 p/h

Teaching Personnel have been approached by a high volume of schools in the East Lancashire area in order to source suitable and experienced teaching assistants to deliver planned intervention/booster sessions so far this academic year. In particular, a primary school within Clitheroe (BB7) are hoping to source an additional teaching assistant to work across Year 1 and Year 2. The successful candidate will be required to provide small group and 1:1 Phonics sessions for Year 1 and Year 2 pupils. The Head Teacher has explained that due to the previous school closures, they are wanting to focus on the child who are at risk of falling behind/ working below age related expectation in terms of the Phonics phases.

The school would be able to provide the intervention position on a part-time basis (8.30am - 1.00pm) and the Head Teacher has said they ideally looking for someone who is happy to commit to five mornings a week, including the welfare duty. The school are looking for an individual who is comfortable to across Key Stage 1 and it is essential to have a good knowledge and understanding of Phonics. 

Requirements for the role:

-          CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

-          Minimum grade C in English & Maths at GCSE (or equivalent)

-          Experience using Letters and Sounds, Jolly Phonics or Read Write Inc. Phonics schemes

-          Experience supporting children within EYFS and Key Stage 1

The role is to start as soon as possible, until May half-term with a view to continue until July 2021 on a part -time basis. The Head Teacher is hoping to successful appoint as soon as possible.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
