Are you a supply teacher seeking work in January 2019?

Are you a teacher who has experience working in a KS2 environment?

Are you a newly, recently or fully inducted teacher who is available to take up short or long term work opportunities through Teaching Personnel?

A school in Darwen who have consistently used Teaching Personnel this term have approached the agency to drive recruitment for local teachers, as a way to ensure they have all their recruitment needs covered in the New Year. The school have used a large amount of supply teachers this year, ranging from day to day to long term and permanent positions. So it is important that we have a good number of local and available teachers who are cleared to work with children. The teachers who have been successful in school have been the ones who hit the ground running and possess strong behaviour management as well as the ability to engage harder to reach children. The school does have a reasonably mixed catchment area with a number of children arriving from socially deprived backgrounds. With this, there is the need for the supply teachers in school to be flexible and understanding of the children's needs and sensitive to individual backgrounds.

The school is currently graded as GOOD by Ofsted and in the recent report published online, the Lead Inspector noted that the Leadership in School propels the school forward and all the teaching staff are well supported through a good structured Leadership Team. The Head teacher has also noted that the high number of staff required in recent months has been a result of high levels of sickness and secondments/promotions. Usually the school will leave the supply teachers with a good routine and a full timetable to ensure they are settled and able to hit the ground running straight away. Behaviour is a challenging in school and so the Head teacher is always keen to support staff by patrolling the corridors in between lessons and break time. The SENCO in school will also be on-call and can be used to diffuse any challenging behaviour and relieve any low level disruption in class.

In order to be considered for any supply work through Teaching Personnel, you must be able to provide the following details

-QTS document and Teacher Reference Number

-Right to work in the UK and proof of address

-Experience of working in schools; with two recent referees to provide extensive details of your time in school.

-Child workforce DBS on the Update Service
