Intervention Teacher - Year 5 and Year 6 support

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

Intervention Teacher needed to support Year 5 and Year 6 pupils

-          Have you had experience working in Key Stage 2?

-          Would you like to lead intervention sessions?

-          Are you looking a job with flexible working hours?

Job Type: Full time or Part-time (2 – 5 days a week)

Start date: Monday 18th November 2019

End date: Thursday 23rd July 2020 – potentially the next academic year

An average sized Primary school situated in Bacup has approached Teaching Personnel in order to source an intervention Key Stage 2 teacher. This is due to the school receiving funding for an additional member of staff to support the Year 5 and Year 6 classes in preparation for the SATs.

They are hoping to find an enthusiastic individual who can offer additional support to year 5 and 6 pupils. The Head Teacher has commented that the role could be either on a full or part time basis, and would ideally start in November 2019 for the rest of the academic year at least. If the intervention teacher gets on well in school then the position could be extended for the next academic year September 2020 – July 2021. With this in mind, you would be able to support the current year 5 and 6 pupils and then to follow the year 5 class into year 6.

The main purpose of the role is to support the children in year 5 and 6 that require a boost in English and maths. You would be expected to plan and lead small group intervention sessions out of class, mainly in preparation for the SATs towards the end of the academic year.  You would be given allocated time to plan the interventions and receive support from the class teacher with regards to the objectives/ subject coverage.
