Intervention Teacher (Primary) in Cardiff

We are currently looking to recruit an Intervention Teacher to join a welcoming two form entry primary school in Cardiff. Though the vacancy would be to start after half term, the school are open to starting the right teacher at their earliest convenience.
The successful Teacher will be teaching across the Key Stage 2 department until at least the Easter Holidays with a very strong opportunity for the candidate to be taken on a permanent basis further down the line.

The Role :

• Teaching across the Key Stage 2 department providing small group Literacy & Numeracy intervention to pupils behind the national average
• Providing additional support with core subjects and covering PPA time for teachers
• March 2019 start
• Maximum of 25 students per class with one or two teaching assistants in each class to assist with 1:1 and small groups
• No planning or preparation
• Monday to Friday ; 8:30am to 3:30pm
• Long term contract with possibility to go permanent for the right candidate
• Suitable for Newly Qualified Teachers
• Daily rate starting at £100+ (negotiable, based on experience)

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria :

• Hold a Bachelors of Education with QTS or Primary PGCE
• Have proven experience teaching the UK and/or International curriculum for a minimum of 2 terms (PGCE experience included)
• NQTs and FQTs who trained in the UK with experience on the English and/or Welsh curriculum both welcome to apply
• Established behaviour management required

Applicants must :

- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide at least two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Cardiff
