Intervention Teacher

  • Part-time position (days/hours TBC)
  • Primary School in Blackburn (BB1)
  • Competitive hourly rate - GBP20-GBP35 per hour
  • Start date: Monday 19th April 2021

The Head Teacher and Senior Leaders from a larger than average primary school in the BB1 area of Blackburn are looking to secure a suitable practitioner, to deliver interventions targeted at improving Maths and English in school (KS2). This is a new role in school and is an excellent opportunity for a teacher or tutor with experience of teaching or delivering catch-up sessions within Key Stage 2 (Year 3-5). The Head Teacher is looking for the intervention teacher to start after the Easter holidays, Monday 19th April 2021 and the position will run until the end of the academic year at least. Due to the additional role being funded by the catch-up funding provided by the Government, ideally it will continue until December 2021,

Due to the current restrictions in schools and keeping year groups in their bubbles. The intervention teacher will be allocated a series of sessions with one specific cohort, after completing these and relevant assessment they will then move onto another cohort. The successful applicant will work closely alongside the class teachers in school to report back regarding pupil progress. The hours of the role are negotiable however at present the plan is for the successful applicant to work three-four hours per day across four/five days per week term time only. This role will be mainly working on a 1:3 basis with children ranging from Year 3 - Year 5.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a genuine passion for the development of each child in your care providing an inclusive environment where all can learn and all are encouraged to meet their full potential
  • Have the ability to uphold the whole school ethos and be involvement in school life and events
  • Have experience of teaching and supporting children in KS2 (Year 3- Year 5)
  • Be confident planning interventions and tracking progress alongside the main class teacher
  • Be able to provide contact details of two referees from their two most recent employers

As a National Tutoring Programme approved provider, the school are keen to appoint for this role through Teaching Personnel. As a Teaching Personnel educator you will be paid on a weekly basis and have full access to the NTP toolkit training and your designated consultant will be on hand 24/7.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
