Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting intervention specialists to start in the new academic year. If you have experience in providing 1:1 tuition, group work or offsite teaching for students not in a school or other learning environment. If you do have relevant experience delivering tuition or would like to move out of a traditional classroom setting, we would love to hear from you.
About the role:
As an intervention specialist, your role will primarily involve working to raise academic attainment among students who are struggling to achieve their potential. Many of the children you will be working with will have SEN needs, be the MLD or SEMH, so previous experience with children such as these would be ideal. As part of your role a key part of your role will be planning lessons for pupil's individual needs. As a result, special attention may need to be placed if pupils have specific issues related to disabilities or current levels of academic attainment.
Other duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Working with challenging behavioural settings to provide the highest standard of education for struggling and disabled pupils.
- Coordinating activities with teachers to ensure a high standard of learning is maintained.
- Serve as a positive role model to students and provide inspiration.
- At all time be committed to the welfare of children.
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will…
- Have experience working with SEN children preferably as a tutor, but possibly in an SEN school.
- Be calm and cool under pressure, with the ability to always manage difficult behaviour.
- Be adaptable to change in circumstances.
- Be able to build a strong rapport with pupils and empathise with them.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
