Job description

Full time hours

Support an individual child with complex needs and social & emotional needs

A nurturing approach is preferable and someone who is committed to improving standards and building strong relationships

Are you a Primary Teaching Assistant/Specialist Support Assistant who is looking for a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant role in a primary school in Blackburn? Would you like to improve standards and boost confidence? Have you got the passion to aid an individual child who has complex and emotional needs?

This may be the perfect role for you…We have at least 6 weeks work supporting a child in a Year 5 class!

The school is located in the heart of Blackburn in a 'socially deprived' area and so the children arrive in school generally working below expected age related levels. The school has more than the National average children who attend with free school meals and special educational needs. The SENCO in school is keen to see potential support assistants to meet with her next week, week beginning 9th October 2017. The role will be explained further during this informal chat, however the role will include the support of an individual child who struggles to work independently without support! The main needs vary from complex to social and emotional; the child does have a challenging home life and the SENCO has asked for someone who potentially has experience working in out-reach or community cohesion.

This is a GOOD primary school who invest time into new staff through an induction programme. The school are looking to implement this for the role as it is expected that the position will continue further than 6 weeks.

If you are interested in the above role and would like to apply, then please send your up to date CV or contact me on 01772 842155

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
