Job description

Under the aim of the executive board for a large Salford Secondary school, the Senior Leadership Teams are now seeking to co-ordinate a resilient Inclusion Mentor required on a full time basis after the Easter break.

The incoming Inclusion Mentor will be working in collaboration with school staff that are dedicated in the support of pupils at risk of exclusion across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Full time Inclusion Mentor, Easter 2019.
  • 37.5 hours per week - Term time only.
  • Must have previous experience supporting hard to reach young people and challenging behaviour.
  • Opportunity to work directly with pupils and help overcome barriers to learning.
  • Earn up to £85+ per day.

As the incoming Inclusion Mentor you will be working within the Alternate Provisions based in the school grounds. The support provisions boasts newly refurbished classrooms and ICT rooms with access to extra-curricular activities and placements. All staff both onsite within the provisions in place and within the main school; work cohesively in order to enrich the experiences and address the challenges of pupils.

The responsibilities for the successful Inclusion Mentor will include but may not be limited to;

  • Engage pupils and be a first response for each individual child everyday.
  • Patrol the provision and classrooms in order to ensure pupils are settles in their appropriate classes.
  • Regularly liaise with parents, Inclusion Managers and SLT about individual pupil behaviour to ensure effective lines of communication between school and home.
  • Manage and monitor support and investigate/report poor behaviour.

Located in the Worsley region of Salford this growing Secondary school has just over 800 pupils on roll the school is situated across two grounds. It is easily accessible via the M60/ A580 (East Lancashire Road) as well as the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also numerous public transport links readily available with links across Greater Manchester.
