The school based in the heart of Worthing is looking for a teacher of ICT/Computer Science to join them on a full time basis starting ASAP. The school is a large secondary school that offers excellent education provision for students aged 11-19. Ofsted recommend the school to be a ‘good’ school and say that “pupils behave well in lessons and around the school” and “Pupils work hard and make strong progress overall because leaders and teachers have high expectations of them”.

The school offers GCSE Computer Science; BTEC Level 1/2 Technical Award in Digital Information Technology; Cambridge Technical Level 3 Certificate in IT. To be considered, you must at least have experience teaching up to KS4 ICT and Computing following the national curriculum/programme of study.  Computing is a popular subject in the school and in order to support the growth, the opportunity has arisen. The department, traditionally a small one, has worked relentlessly to achieve high expectations and promote a love for the subject demonstrating it purpose in every life and the career opportunities it can bring. They are a supportive team who strive to provide a world class computing education programme at all key stages.

The school are looking for a teacher who is innovative and has an all inclusive approach to their pedagogy. Ofsted praised the staff’s ability to differentiate effectively to ensure all students can reach their potential. You should have high expectations and be committed to lifelong learning.

The school can consider NQTs as well as more experienced practitioners. To be able to teach A Level is desirable, although not essential.

The successful candidate will require prior background checks including referencing and DBS checks.
