Job description

Are you interested in supporting students with SEN in Hydrotherapy sessions?

Hydrotherapy is the use of interactive multi-sensory equipment in water to aid pupils with autism or other special needs to improve their cognitive and physical abilities. The advantages of weightlessness and ease of movement assist pupils in their mobility. Sessions can also be used to both calm and stimulate pupils and, coupled with interactive features, the pool can also be used as a teaching aid.

Other benefits include:

Non weight bearing exercise

Relief from pain, swelling and stiffness

Promotion of relaxation

Joint mobilisation

Cardiovascular fitness (heart and lungs)

Muscle strengthening, maintenance & restoration

Increase in range of motion of affected joints

Improved circulation

I am seeking Teaching Assistants who are happy to undertake Hydrotherapy sessions in local SEN Schools and also act as general classroom support. A willingness to enter the water is great but you must also be willing to provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs and also be willing to provide personal care.
