A school in South Manchester is seeking a Humanities Graduate to join the wider department, in order to help pupils re-engage with the subject after a lengthy break out of school. Following the lockdown period, Teaching Personnel is working with the school to find a motivated graduate who is looking to engross themselves in school life.

Requirements for this role:

• A degree within History or Geography, or within a relevant field.
• Prior experience working with children is highly desirable.
• End goal of becoming either a Humanities teacher, or working within the realm of support.

As a Humanities Teaching Assistant, the applicant will:

• Help teaching staff prepare students for exams, working to improve attainment within the classroom.
• Work with students with SEN, helping them combat the common difficulties often associated within Humanities.
• Manage individual student needs, and ensure that lessons cater for these.
• Shadow full tine teaching staff, developing strong rapport with students and acting as a role model at all times.
• Often work on a small group basis with students, as well as on a 1:1 basis whenever necessary.
• Identify students who require further support, and reporting back to subject leaders on individual student development.
• Act as a cover supervisor when staff absences occur, taking control of the classroom whilst gaining invaluable experience leading the room.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
