HR Manager – Catholic School in Woodford, North East London

An “Outstanding” Catholic School in the Woodford area has contacted Teaching Personnel to source them an HR Manager to begin working from July 2020. The school is one of the most popular schools in North East London and easily accessible via car (parking on-site) and public transport (Central Line and Local Bus Routes).

School Contract: Permanent

Start Date: July 2020

Salary: Scale 12, Point 35-38 FTE

Hours: Full Time ( 39 / Week )

HR Manager – School in Woodford, North East London

DUTIES

  1. Produce and maintain up-to-date and accurate daily ‘Teacher Cover and Room Changes’ lists for absent teaching staff.
  2. Track and monitor staff absences.
  3. To monitor requests for Leave of Absence and ensure that such requests do not negatively affect school functioning through conflicts in the timetables or planned school activities.
  4. To keep an accurate record of all DBS renewals.
  5. Responsible for the maintenance of the ‘Single Central Register’.
  6. Ensure that personnel records are maintained up to date in accordance with statutory and audit requirements.
  7. Log sickness absence and other absence data with LBR through iTRENT and run reports as needed to trigger policy and procedures in relation to absence management.
  8. Ensure all staff emergency contact information is kept up to date.
  9. Provide advice on flexible working requests and administer leave entitlements including maternity, paternity, adoption, and jury service absences.
  10. Undertake disciplinary and grievance investigations and/ or chair disciplinary and grievance hearings as appropriate.
  11. Lead and manage good absence management control including return to work interviews, setting up occupational health interviews – working to reduce the impact of long-term absence in line with school policy.
  12. Update whole school policies in line with local and national statutory guidance.
  13. Lead on managing staffing change situations, such as, TUPE, restructure or redundancies.
  14. To lead on union negotiation and consultation and provide advice and guidance to the Headmaster and the Governing Body on local consultation processes and issues arising.
  15. To provide references for past staff as directed by the Headmaster.
  16. To participate in tender exercises where required.
  17. To establish and maintain meaningful and positive relationships with Trade Unions.

HR Manager, Woodford - Requirements;

  • Experience as an HR Manager in a school.
  • Experience using typical school software such as SIMS.
  • Able to access Woodford, North London
