Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Manchester
Due to staffing restructure in the new academic year, Teaching Personnel are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our client school in September.
- September 2019 start date
- Full time role, Term time only
- £1250 - £1300 per month
- Introduction to a supportive and welcoming SEN department
The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will join our client school in September and will work closely with the schools Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator to support and assist teachers and pupils across the school. This a full time role commencing in September and running throughout the remainder of the academic year.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role will be to provide support across a range of age groups and departments providing classroom, small group and one to one support when required. The successful HLTA will cover classes in the short term absence of teachers, using behaviour management strategies, in line with the school's policy and procedures. They will also plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions to students with additional needs aimed to raise pupil attainment.
We are looking for an individual who is able to communicate effectively with pupils and staff across the school and will be able to create a positive learning environment. The successful HLTA will be able to develop and implement individual education plans and will be able to assess the needs of pupils throughout the academic year.
To apply for this position you must hold a Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification and a C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Our client school has high expectations and ambitions and has become the local secondary school of choice. In a recent Ofsted inspection, the school was judged to be Good with Outstanding features. The successful candidate will join a welcoming Special Educational Needs department and will receive on going support from the schools Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator. The school is located in South Manchester and is a short drive from the city centre (accessible via public transport links).
