Job description

A beautiful primary school based close to the Filton are looking for an experienced HLTA to work with students with social emotional and behavioural difficulties. The suitable applicant must posses HLTA status or hold the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. This position will be full time, term time only with the opportunity to go permanent for the suitable candidate.

Essential requirements:

  • Good knowledge of SEN Code of Practice, in particular SEMH education
  • Experience with planning and delivery small group/whole class sessions
  • Strategies for raising achievement of pupils with SEMH
  • Commitment to Safeguarding
  • Commitment to working collaboratively as part of a strong and supportive team
  • Commitment to raising attainment for all
  • Commitment to actively promoting inclusion

You will be an excellent role model for the pupils and you will be continually striving to support all children to achieve their maximum potential, where ever the barriers to learning may be.

This opportunity would suit an ambitious HLTA with a desire to support the most vulnerable of students who are likely to have regular outbursts of challenging behaviour so experience of this would be extremely advantageous. Ideally you would have current or recent experience of working within an academic environment and a good understanding of the National Curriculum and how to support children's learning. Should you posses Team Teach this would also be very beneficial as it is the technique used within the school when necessary.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
