Job description

Full time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) required from May 2019 on a fixed term basis until December 2019 for a Salford based Secondary school. Due to a restructure within the support faculty, this diverse Secondary school wishes to appoint a resilient team player who can join their friendly team on a full time basis.

  • Full time HLTA required from May 2019 on a fixed term basis.
  • Must hold previous experience supporting the teaching and learning of hard to reach young people within an education capacity to be considered.
  • Earn up to £1350+ per month.

The School has become a key figure within the local community, due to their dedicated commitment towards the development of their pupils and with the recent restructure within the staff team the school has further developed an atmosphere of inclusive practice.

As the incoming HLTA you will be working within the support department under the guidance of the SENCO and Safeguarding Lead at school. You will be expected to support the class teacher across all subjects at Key Stages 3/4 and within support provisions at school for identified pupils alongside pupils on EHCP, LAC pupils and the inclusion department.

The responsibilities for the successful HLTA will include;

  • Work alongside the SEN team working with class teachers and Senior Leadership within the classroom and inclusion settings.
  • Mentor identified pupils on a 1:1 intervention basis supporting the teaching and learning of select pupils across the school.
  • Deliver classes in order to allow teachers to take time to plan and mark work, and also cover absences for teachers.
  • Added responsibilities, along with the added classroom time which may also involve organizing other TAs within the department.

Located in the Worsley region of Salford this growing Secondary school has just over 800 pupils on roll the school is situated across two grounds. It is easily accessible via the M60/ A580 (East Lancashire Road) as well as the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also numerous public transport links readily available with links across Greater Manchester.
