HLTA for KS2

An experienced Teaching Assistant is needed for a school in BD5 as maternity cover starting after October half-term. If this could be you then continue reading for more details!

The school has a nice working environment with a supportive group of staff, including many other TA and learning support assistants providing a strong support network. Senior leadership were also praised in their last Ofsted for their commitment to improving the school.

The school are looking for at least a Level 3 TA but preferably a HLTA, who has experience of raising the attainment of pupils in assessed year groups, particularly Year 6, as the role will involve interventions with children to improve their learning.

Knowledge of the curriculum is required as there will be an expectation to contribute to lessons and improve the understanding of the whole class. The head is ambitious and always determined to improve the school, so an experienced teaching assistant with a strong track record of improving attainment is preferable.

Experience helping children with varying abilities and challenging behaviour is also preferred, as the school are keen to improve their behaviour management in order to raise attainment.

Preferences for the role:

• Experienced Teaching Assistant
• Ideally HLTA – at least Level 3 Teaching Assistant
• Track record of raising attainment and contributing to lessons
• Knowledge of KS2 curriculum
• Experience taking smaller groups for interventions
• Good behaviour management skills
