Job description

A large Bury based Secondary school is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a full time basis from September 2019.

Due to an expansion within the support department this over subscribed Secondary school wishes to employ a passionate, resilient and innovative HLTA to work within their support provisions.   • Full time HLTA required from September 2019 or earlier.
  • Previous experience working as a HLTA is essential to be considered.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school, located in the Radcliffe region of Bury, easily accessible via the M60.
  • Earn up to £1400 per month.

The Secondary school boasts just over 1000 pupils enrolled, aged 11-16, and is continuing to progress under the constant support of its Senior Leadership Team. The successful HLTA can expect to work in state of the art facilities with access to modern resources and be supported to develop in a hard working Secondary school.

The responsibilities for the incoming HLTA will include but may not be limited to;

  • Work alongside the SEN team working with class teachers and Senior Leadership within the classroom and inclusion settings.
  • Mentor identified pupils on a 1:1 intervention basis supporting the teaching and learning of select pupils across the school.
  • Deliver classes in order to allow teachers to take time to plan and mark work, and also cover absences for teachers.
  • Added responsibilities, along with the added classroom time which may also involve organizing other TA's within the department.

Bury can easily be accessed via the M60 and the surrounding areas; Bolton, Rochdale and Preston, there are also numerous public transport links within close proximity to the school for those who do not drive, with access throughout Greater Manchester.
