- Are you a History Graduate looking for work?
- Are you a Qualified History Teacher looking for ways to earn during the lockdown period?
As part of the National Tutoring Programme, Teaching Personnel is one of the 32 nationally approved suppliers. Applicants will have access to regular training, as well as the opportunity to work with students across a wide range of abilities.
A school in Tameside is seeking a History Tutor to work on a part time basis.
Pay for this role: Between GBP18 and GBP25 hourly, dependent on prior experience.
As a tutor, the position will focus on:
- Instilling students with confidence, ensuring that their individual needs are successfully catered for.
- Developing student attainment within the subject, whilst also enhancing student confidence in tackling past papers/work set.
- Preparing students for exams.
- Working on a 1:1 as well as 2:1 basis.
The tutor will need competency in teaching to GCSE level. Experience teaching across multiple exam boards is welcomed.
The role will involve working with students with SEN. Being able to effectively meet the needs of these students is essential, and therefore experience working within the realm of SEN is highly desirable. There will be opportunity to work with students with a range of SEN needs, as well as those who may display more challenging behaviour.
Additionally, there may be some expectation to work with students who are disengaged. Therefore, being able to implement strategies and methods to re-engage these students is vital.
Given current government regulations, it is expected that many of these sessions will take place online. We therefore also encourage online tutors to apply for this role.
For further information, please contact the Manchester East Secondary branch at Teaching Personnel.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
