History Teacher – East Manchester

Teaching personnel is currently looking for a highly skilled History teacher for a diverse inner city Manchester school starting in January. Due to the relocation of a long tenured member of staff this opportunity has arisen for an experienced educator to work in one of the largest secondary schools in the Central Manchester area. The role will initially run from January to April, but the school has outlined the possibility of the successful history teacher taking on a school based contract if applicable.

The key responsibilities of the role will be developing and delivering curriculum to a diverse range of students, this includes organising learning resources, issuing tests and assignments. The Academy’s history curriculum allows pupils to build a substantive and essential body of knowledge of both British and international history, that will play part in all pupils’ cultural understanding.

The ideal candidate would hit the ground running so experience working as a qualified History teacher would be preferable, although NQT’s with appropriate qualifications would be considered. The head of humanities is looking for a teacher with strong motivational and relationship development skills with a real passion for the subject to help students achieve above and beyond their expected targets. Full assistance will be provided by an extremely supportive senior leadership team reporting directly to the head of History.

Essential requirements:

• Ability to teach KS3 and GCSE History
• Be available on a full-time basis from Jan 2021 
• Be fully committed to taking on full teaching responsibilities including of parents evening and departmental meetings
