History Teacher

Teaching Personnel, the market leader of recruitment in the education sector, are currently working in partnership with our client secondary school in Wigan who are seeking to appoint History Teacher from March 2020. This temporary post will last until the end of the academic year in the first instance, with a view that the successful candidate will stay on a permanent basis following the successful completion of the fixed term contract.

• Full time Teacher of History from January 2020.
• Role until the end of the academic year (July) in the first instance.
• Opportunity for permanent role thereafter.
• Teaching History up to KS4.
• Pay in line with MPS and UPS.

Working as a History Teacher at our client school, candidates should be able to teach both KS3 and KS4 lessons. Pupils in Years 7, 8 & 9 receive one 60 minute lesson a week and are taught in mixed ability groups. Pupils in Years 10 & 11 receive three one hour lessons a week and follow a two year GCSE course which incorporates the three disciplines of performance, composition and listening.

Our partner school is a smaller than average secondary school located on the boarder of Wigan. The school is well respected in the local area and was graded ‘Good’ graded across the board. Students’ behaviour and their attitudes to learning are good and relationships between students and adults are also good.
