“We are looking to recruit a Historian to join our growing Humanities department for 2 terms starting on Monday 6th January 2020 at the beginning of the new upcoming spring term. This is an exciting time for our school and Humanities department as we are growing consistently and have a great work ethic and feel within our school. We are accepting and encouraging applications from all teachers including those who are newly qualified as well as those who are more experienced. The successful History teacher will be teaching up to GCSE level, primarily from year 7 – 10 but with a couple of year 11 classes.”

Our client secondary school situated in the Tameside area is looking to recruit a History teacher to start with them from Monday 6th January. This is a full time teaching position for the remainder of the academic year but given that it is an open vacancy, there is the opportunity to progress onto a school based contract for the successful History teacher.

As advised by the Head of Humanities, the school require a subject specialist who is an excellent classroom practitioner, to join this good school and ensure learning is of the highest standard. The teacher of History can be a NQT, fully qualified teacher or an existing supply teacher with the ability and experience in teaching History.

Highlights of this History teaching position:

  • Pay will be dependent upon payscale and experience but likely range between GBP2300 – 2700 per month
  • Work within a highly supportive Humanities department where each member of staff is a valued member of the team
  • Work within a ‘Good’ secondary school in the Tameside area
  • Full time, long term teaching position within the History department with the opportunity to secure a school based contract
  • CPD opportunities are plentiful via the Teaching Personnel Academy as well as internally with the school

This co-educational secondary school is an over subscribed, thriving school which prides itself on being a first choice for students and parents within the Tameside area. Students have been praised for showing positive attitudes towards their learning and achieve well as a result. The school and Head of Humanities therefore have high expectations of all students and teachers, ensuring students’ learning is held in the highest regard.

The school is located in the Tameside area on the East side of Greater Manchester, very easily accessible from any of the surrounding areas such as Stalybridge, Dukinfield, Ashton-Under-Lyne , Denton, Hyde and further afield. The M67 and M60 motorway networks are very nearby making this school easy to get to for those Historians who drive.
