Full time History teacher required URGENTLY

  • £120 - £140 per day
  • Teaching History through to GCSE
  • Opportunity for a permanent contract


Required ASAP. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic History teacher with excellent teaching skills to teach History at GCSE near central Derby.

The school are looking for someone who has a willingness to bring new ideas to the Department that will build upon its excellent academic work will be welcomed. Importantly, they are committed to providing as broad an education as possible and great emphasis is laid on the opportunities available to pupils outside of the classroom as well as success in it.

The successful applicant will be a qualified secondary trained History Teacher with a solid background of teaching History in UK secondary schools – NQT’s are suitable.

All applicants will be subject to past school references and a current DBS check under our clearance procedures

• Have a recognised teaching qualification and hold QTS or QTLS

• Have a positive approach to managing behaviour and be passionate about your subject, and this is evident in your teaching

• Have experience teaching GCSE History

You will be required to do all planning, marking and preparation for the History classes you are responsible for teaching as well as attending school meetings and parent’s evening.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
