A large Salford based Secondary school is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and passionate History teacher, who can join their welcoming Humanities department, on a full time basis from September 2019 and build on its success.

As the incoming History teacher you will be a consistently outstanding practitioner with an infectious enthusiasm for History, as well as having the ability to help all pupils succeed and exceed their potentials.   • Full time History Teacher required from September 2019.
  • Must hold QTS alongside strong subject knowledge within History.

The History department mirrors the aims and vision of the Secondary school. The successful History teacher will have outstanding subject knowledge and be confident in motivating pupils through inspirational teaching and learning. History is hugely popular amongst pupils across Key Stage 3 and particularly at Key Stage 4 as a significant number of pupils opt to take History as an option at GCSE level.

Your responsibilities will include but may not be limited to;

  • Plan, prepare and mark classwork, reporting back to Senior Leadership within the faculty and taking appropriate action for assessment and evaluation where applicable.
  • Deliver dynamic History lessons ranging to meet the needs of pupils at a range of learning abilities and ages.
  • Manage behaviour in accordance to behaviour management policies, aimed at the engagement of pupils across the board.
  • Uphold school ethos and values.

The Secondary school has just over 1200 pupils enrolled, ages 11-16, and is easily accessible via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Trafford. There are also various public transport options available with links across Greater Manchester.
