A mixed comprehensive Secondary school based in the Swinton region of Salford is seeking a passionate History Teacher, to join their welcoming Humanities department on a full time basis from October 2019.

The Headteacher wishes to appoint an outstanding practitioner with a clear enthusiasm for the subject, as well as having the ability to help all pupils exceed their potentials. The History department mirrors the aims and vision of the Secondary school. The successful History teacher will have outstanding subject knowledge and be confident in motivating pupils through inspirational teaching and learning. History is hugely popular amongst pupils across Key Stage 3 and particularly at Key Stage 4 as a significant number of pupils opt to take History as an option at GCSER level.

  • Plan, prepare and mark classwork, reporting back to Senior Leadership within the faculty and taking appropriate action for assessment and evaluation where applicable.
  • Deliver dynamic History lessons ranging to meet the needs of pupils at a range of learning abilities and ages.
  • Manage behaviour in accordance to behaviour management policies, aimed at the engagement of pupils across the board.
  • Uphold school ethos and values.

This dynamic Secondary school has just over 650 pupils enrolled, ages 11-16, and is easily accessible via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Trafford. There are also various public transport options available with links across Greater Manchester.
