Job description

Are you a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with 6 months classroom based experience? Are you looking for flexible working arrangements and competitive pay?

We are currently recruiting for Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work Day to Day, Short term and Long term supply assignments in a number of Primary schools within Daventry and surrounding areas.

Skills required

  • Level 4 qualification necessary
  • Minimum of 6 months classroom based experience essential
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies
  • Have a consistent positive and patient approach to learning
  • Effectively liaise with staff, parents, carers and outside agencies if required
  • Have some knowledge of the National Curriculum

Successful Teaching Assistants will

  • Support the children in all areas of the curriculum
  • Support the class teacher and follow instruction
  • Work with children in small groups or one to one
  • Assist with the preparation of the learning environment
  • Liaise with parents
  • Maintain pupil records
  • Provide extra support where needed in order to encourage this child to integrate and progress

You may also be required to undertake administration tasks such as handing out/collecting papers, photocopying, some light marking, putting up/taking down displays, etc.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
