Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Full time opportunity beginning in January 2018 for a suitably qualified higher level teaching assistant to work in a centrally located, Manchester secondary school. Due to staffing changes and additional funding allocated, this position for a HLTA to work full time until the end of academic year has become available. Previous experience as a higher level teaching assistant is required, qualifications and suitable references also for interested applicants.

  • Manchester school, centrally located around 15 minutes from city centre
  • Supporting pupils withdrawn from the classroom alongside the SENCO

Situated south of the city centre with good connecting transport links (M60) and also public transport, this is a mixed 11-16 secondary school going from strength to strength under the current Head teacher. The post requires a higher level teaching assistant who can work closely with pupils who are struggling to remain within the classroom full time, you'll work alongside the SENCO to deliver a high standard of support both as a TA and covering classes (small groups up to 8). The school has an onsite provision which aims to remain inclusive and allow pupils a chance to re-integrate back in to full school life without the risk of exclusion.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
