Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Kingston - The Inclusion Support Service - Education Services
About the School /Service
We are seeking to appoint a creative, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant, to work in various primary/secondary schools around the Kingston and Richmond area through a Local Education Authority.
The LEA is looking for a professional with drive, energy and commitment, with an innovative approach to support young children who demonstrate behaviour of concern and work with them 1:1. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the different roles within the LEA, where you can commit to working full time. You will be working around an educational framework based on the National Curriculum, implemented by the LEA in 1:1 or small groups.
The role
To assist Inclusion Service Leaders and Specialist Practitioners in providing appropriate support interventions to pupils with additional needs within the mainstream school setting. This responsibility equally extends to those pupils who require individual learning programmes and includes transition of pupils to Key Stage 3 or specialist provision.
Essential Experience:
- Ability to assist teaching staff in the planning and application of individual support programmes.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
- Ability to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
- A good understanding of Safeguarding practice within a school environment
- Strategies which encourage parents and carers to support their children's learning
