SEN Teaching Assistant required to support pupils with Hearing Impairments in specialist school in North Leeds

  • Experience of working with pupils with Hearing Impairments
  • BSL or Makaton would be an advantage
  • Able to meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of pupils

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist school for the deaf in the Wetherby area. The school are looking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join the team this academic year.

You will have experience in supporting pupils with additional needs, including hearing or visual impairments, physical disabilities and global developmental delay. You will have experience in implementing Educational, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) in an education setting and be able to effectively manage pupils behaviour. Additional skills and qualifications such as BSL/Makaton/Team Teach would be an advantage.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
