SEN TEACHER
Teaching Personnel are recruiting an experienced, resilient, and personable SEMH Teacher to join a special secondary school in Brighton for students aged 8-16 years. You will be expected to teach core subjects but most importantly have experience in SEMH and behaviour.
Job Specification
- The class will be following an informal curriculum. Strategies need to be in place for all learners.
- Work closely with LSA’s to ensure that they are aware of the needs of pupils with social communication needs in their class You will be teaching a Ks3 class of 6-8 students with mixed complex SEN needs including ASD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties. Many have sensory processing needs and will display some challenging behaviour.
- Provide advice and curriculum support so that pupils with ASC + SLD can access a broad and balanced curriculum.

- This welcoming and dedicated school caters for students with ASD, emotional behavioural difficulties, and mild learning difficulties.
- A maintained special school for pupils aged 11-16
- All pupils who are referred to the school have an Education, Health, and Care Plan
- The main goal is to ensure that every pupil is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe, supportive, and caring learning environment
Person specification:
- Fully Qualified Secondary teacher. SEMH experience is important.
- Passionate commitment to the academic, personal, and social development of young people with a range of complex SEN.
- Demonstrate consistent and effective planning of lessons to meet students differing learning need
- Has a DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one) and has right to work in the UK!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
