Head of Music Teacher – Islington
** Music Teacher – Islington – Music Teacher – Highbury – Music Teacher – Hackney – Music Teacher – Hoxton – September 2020 **
From: October 2020 (Full time)
Salary: M1 to UPS3 (Inner London)
Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a high achieving school in North London (Central). Visitors comment on the warm atmosphere and the level of participation in extra-curricular activities. Pupils at the school recently described the school as one “family” and a “real community”. The SLT are very proud of the school and believe it is a place where you can really teach and develop.
The school are now looking to appoint, commencing October 2020, a full time Head of Music Teacher who would enjoy working with highly motivated, intellectually curious students. The Music Department is a busy, energetic and friendly department that has a long tradition of musical excellence, both in and out of the classroom.
Both our client school and Teaching Personnel are able to offer the support required for a teacher who is eager to contribute and make a difference to students that are conscientious and enthusiastic equally. We would welcome applications from music teachers with more experience, who could potentially share some of the responsibilities associated with a Head of Music role.
The Music Department works as a close-knit group, sharing resources and strategies across the year groups taught at the school. As you would expect, Music is a popular option at GCSE and A Level.
The department’s exam results in 2018 were outstanding at both GCSE and at A level. At GCSE, 70% of students achieved grades 7-9, with 32% achieving grade 9 and 51% grades 9/8. At A level, 38% of students achieved an A* and 100% A*/B.
If you would like to work in a friendly environment, principally with Key Stage 3 & 4 pupils, with the possibility of some GCSE Music teaching, and the opportunity of significant involvement in extra-curricular music, then we would like to hear from you.
Role requirements:
- Teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE)
- Experience teaching in UK schools
- Availability to work full time
- References available from previous roles
- DBS on the update service (We can help with this)
- Outstanding attitude and dedication to teaching and developing students
If you feel you are a suitable fit for this school and would like the opportunity to be considered for this role, please send your CV to callum.moore@teachingpersonnel.com or call the London Secondary Branch on 02075933073 .
