Job description

Full time Graduate Tutor required immediately for a Bolton based Secondary school.

Due to an increased demand for targeted support for incoming Year 7 pupils in the new academic year an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school based in the Farnworth region of Bolton. If you are a confident English/Maths or Science Graduate with experience working with young people, supporting with their teaching and learning and wish to be considered please see the details below.

  • Full time Graduate Tutors required for Year 7 Catch up, immediate start.
  • Excellent location accessible via the M60.
  • Must hold subject specific qualifications to be considered or experience tutoring with young people.
  • Earn up to £15 - £30 per hour, dependant upon qualifications and experience.*

The incoming Graduate Tutors will be required to support with the transition for Year 7 pupils up coming from Key Stage 2 across the core subjects. The bridge between them and their peers can be prevalent when assessed against national expected averages ad the introduction of Graduate Tutors can help to reduce this.

  • Confidence in ability to build positive relationship with pupils and promote a Growth Mind-Set.
  • Deliver sessions at Key Stage 3 level to pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and deliver pre-planned Maths sessions to low achieving pupils.

The school has just over 600 pupils on roll aged 11-16 and it is ideally situated to be accessible via the M60 and the surrounding areas; Bury, Wigan, Salford and Chorley. Public transport links are also easily accessible, with the Bus and Train station a few miles away from the school.
