Full time and part time Graduate Teaching Assistants required for a Salford based Secondary school from September 2018 until the end of the new academic year (2018/2019).

Are you in the process of obtaining or have recently obtained a degree level qualification? Are you a Graduate looking to embark upon your career pursuing teaching? Do you wish to develop your teaching experience through practical hands on practise?

If so then please see the details below for the Graduate Teaching Assistant positions.

  • Full time and part time Graduate Teaching Assistants required, Salford based Secondary school. September 2018.
  • Initially on a temporary supply basis with the potential to progress to a fixed contract after the initial post.
  • Must hold or be in the process of obtaining a minimum of a degree level qualification.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted rated 'Good' Secondary school, new build, with access state of the art resources within modern facilities.
  • Access to CPD training programmes through partner schools.
  • Earn up to £1200 per month.

The mixed comprehensive Secondary school has continued to evolve through the guidance of its Senior Leadership from past inspections and has provisions in place to support and develop their own internal support staff. The successful Graduate Teaching Assistants can expect to join a school has been noted for the support provided to their staff, trainees and school community as a whole. With an internal School Direct Programme in place, the Graduate Teaching Assistants have the opportunity to use this position to build this as a foundation prior to training to teach.

The responsibilities for the Graduate Teaching Assistant role will include;

  • Supporting the learning of pupils alongside the class teacher, in small groups or on a 1:1 basis across the school.
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons where required, with full guidance and support.
  • Provide extra support within the core subjects through Key Stages 3-4.
  • Help raise student attainment by providing further support to lower achieving students through intervention or tutoring.

Located in Salford, this mixed comprehensive Secondary school with just over 700 pupils on roll, aged 11-16, is ideally situated to be accessed via the A580 (East Lancashire road) and the M602 as well as the surrounding areas; Bury, Leigh and Salford. There are also excellent public transport links readily available.
