Graduate Teaching Assistants

Teaching Personnel are looking for Graduates to join our Future Teachers Programme in the new academic year. (19/20)
The Future Teachers Programme is a year long programme designed to help graduates who are considering a career in teaching but wish to gain paid school based experience prior to enrolling in formal teacher training. The course also gives graduates the opportunity to be selected by our client school to enrol on their own School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT).
What is involved in the Future Teachers Programme?
Graduates will be placed in one of Teaching Personnel's client schools located in South Manchester and will work as a subject specialist Teaching Assistant for one academic year. Graduates will work closely with member staff to help pupils to grow, learn and achieve.
Graduates will focus of their subject specialism and will learn the syllabus for their subject across each key stage. They will assist teachers in the preparation of lessons plans and resources and will offer in class support to pupils across a range of year groups and abilities.
Graduates will also plan and deliver intervention sessions to small groups of pupils who require addition support. Once confident, graduates will also cover lessons in the short term absence of teachers.
Highlights of the role:
- Full time Teaching Assistant role for 1 academic year, commencing September 2019
- £1100 - £1200 per month
- Gain practical paid experience required to progress on to formal Teacher Training
- Introduction to a large successful secondary school in South Manchester
- No prior knowledge of teaching required - ongoing training and support given throughout
