Are you a recent Graduate looking to specialise in working within a Behaviour Provision?

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to appoint as soon as possible or would consider September 2018 for the right candidate for an SEN Teaching Assistant post for an alternative provision in York. The centre provides a personalised education for children with a range of behavioural difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, autism and English as an additional language.

The School look for those who can support the children on an academic basis, whilst effectively managing the behaviour of the pupils. The successful candidate will assist the lead teacher in devising lesson plans and supporting students in group and 1:1 sessions.

What you will require:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Graduate Degree in English, Maths, Science etc)
  • Evidence of managing behaviour effectively
  • A strong and creative approach to assist the class teacher in raising attainment
  • A commitment to develop the personalities, talents and abilities of all students
  • A confident and positive approach to working with children
  • The ability to be a proactive team member, committed to raising standards and achievement
  • An enthusiasm to learn and develop professionally
  • A passion for education within your subject
  • A willingness and enthusiasm to commit to the expectations of the role and desire to contribute to extra-curricular responsibilities
  • A current Child Only DBS registered with the Update Service, or a DBS done through Teaching Personnel
