Graduate teaching assistant Thanet

Aspiring secondary teachers with the desire to become a qualified teacher in their specialist subject - this is an excellent opportunity for you working as a graduate teaching assistant from September.

If you are graduating this summer (English Maths, Science or related subjects) or have previously completed your degree and want a secure, paid route in to teaching, Teaching Personnel can support you. We are working in partnership with a Teaching School in Thanet to recruit a number of graduate teaching assistants throughout the region for September. This is a 12 month programme, you will work in a selected secondary school for the next academic year as a teaching assistant within your specialist area and undertake a variety of responsibilities. In addition to working as a teaching assistant supporting teachers and students, you will attend nationally recognised training with the teaching school and develop your personal skills to begin to teacher training in September 2019.

  • Graduate teaching assistant, starting from September 2018
  • One year contract to then progress in to teacher training from 2019
  • Fully supported by the teaching school and National Leaders in education
  • Undertaking various responsibilities as a teaching assistant
  • Paid route in to teaching with regular courses and training opportunities
  • English Maths and Science future teachers, similar degree related subjects considered

With ever increasing pressure on universities to recruit and retain teachers to the profession, this future teachers programme over 2 years is a controlled and supportive way to enter the profession. You will be working as a graduate teaching assistant in one school for 12 months and then begin teacher training from September 2019, completing teaching placements in 2 separate schools and gaining a PGCE in secondary education and your specialist subject.

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a National teaching school to recruit future teachers and create a smooth route in to teaching. If you are coming to the end of your studies or are a previous graduate wanting a salaried route in to teaching with full support, apply now for this graduate teaching assistant position and our future teachers programme, you will ideally be/have;

  • A degree in a core subject or similar related field (English Maths Science)
  • Knowledge of the education system or a definitive desire to become a teacher
  • Commitment to a 2 year programme from September 2018
  • The ability to follow instruction and be responsible for your own personal development
