Graduate Teaching Assistant- South Manchester

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant for our popular secondary school located in South Manchester. Working under the leadership of the Assistant Head teachers, this Graduate Teaching Assistant position will be to support across all year groups both in lessons and on a 1-to-1 basis;

- Full time Graduate Teaching Assistant position

- Required to start from September 2018

- To support across all year groups with a particular focus on working in Maths, English, & Science lessons

- School located in South Manchester with excellent public transport links

Due to the strategic ambition of the Senior Leadership team to raise the attainment and progress in the core subjects, they are seeking the support of a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the new academic year. Within this role, there will be a particular focus on improving the engagement and progress within Maths, English and Science lessons. Therefore, a degree or previous experience of supporting with these subjects is preferred.

Being able to engage and motivate pupils is paramount therefore this role is ideal for a graduate who has previous experience of working with young people in an educational capacity. It is also the perfect preparation for any graduates who are thinking of completing their teacher training in the future.

Our partner secondary school is of average size with just under 1000 pupils currently on roll. Most students are from White British backgrounds and the proportion of those known to be eligible for support through the pupil premium is slightly higher than the national average at present.

It is located within South Manchester which offers excellent accessibility to the areas of Wythenshawe, Stockport and Tameside via the M60 motorway. It is also situated close to the M56 which offers direct access to Altrincham, Timperley and Sale. For those requiring public transport, there are direct bus links from as far as Manchester city centre.
