Graduate Teaching assistants

Primary schools in Southwark, Lewisham and Croydon are looking for graduate Teaching Assistants to work on a one-to-one basis with children diagnosed with Autism. While a successful candidate may not have a great deal of experience supporting pupils with SEN, having the right attitude is vital in order to meet the demand's of the role. Most of the pupils are on the Autism spectrum, with additional needs, such a ADHD, SEMH, SLD and MLD.

Full time:

Those who are available full time, if you successfully pass your interview at the school you will be assigned to a pupil and you will work with that pupil, sitting in their classes, assisting with class work when they need it, supervising them during their breaks.

This post is for an immediate start and will span until end of academic year with the idea that you will continue at the school in September.

Part time:

There are day-to-day positions for those who are seeking part time work, however, you must be available a minimum of 3 days a week to go into schools that require day cover for the day. You will be assisting classrooms or pupils on a 1:1 basis for the day depending on the school's needs for the day.

Any training, such as safeguarding and team teach, is an advantage.

Graduates with sports science, psychology, music, or education degrees are welcome to apply.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
