Graduate Teaching Assistant

A Harrogate school are looking for a graduate teaching assistant to work part-time with the Year 6 class until the end of the year. If you have a degree and a teaching or TA qualification then this could be the role for you!

The school received ‘Ouststanding’ in its last Ofsted (2014) and have consistently performed well as a school over many years. The SLT are looking for a graduate TA who can work closely with the year 6 teacher by supplementing the learning of the whole class, as well as pushing the highest ability learners as much as possible. This will involve taking smaller booster groups and one on one interventions, so any knowedge of the KS2 curriculum or experience of previously working in KS2 classes would be highly valued by the school. The school feel that a talented graduate TA could sufficiently challenge the highest achieveing students, and push them towards even better results this year in their KS2 SATs.

The school want enthusiastic TAs who can also contribute to the learning of the whole class in lesson time. The behaviour of the school is by and large very good, and is a very warm and supportive environment to work in due to it being fairly small in size. Due to the high SEN intake in the school any experience in mainstream or specialist SEN schools in a support role would also be useful.

The role is initially until the end of the academic year but this may well be extended by the school depending on performance.
