Working with a school in Blackburn, Teaching Personnel are seeking graduates for a 12 month Graduate Teaching Assistant position. The role is designed to build experience before moving onto an Initial Teacher Training programme. Responsibilities include working as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant and intervention.

The school is a highly successful 11-16 provision in a central Blackburn location. As part of a nationally recognised Teaching school provision within the Salford Diocese there are excellent support facilities in place to ensure that successful candidates have guidance for all of the roles. The successful graduate will be closely linked with their specialist department where they will receive dedicated support from a range of highly experienced Teachers.

Applications for this role will be considered from Graduates with specialisms in any secondary school subject. The successful Graduate Teaching Assistant will benefit from the following:

  • 12 months paid school experience

  • Direct route onto Initial Teacher Training course (SCITT programme)
  • Wide school network with excellent career prospects upon completion of Teacher Training

Graduates considering this role must:

  • Hold a bachelors or complete their bachelors degree for September 2019
  • Specialise in a secondary GCSE subject
  • Have a desire to work in education
