Are you an aspiring teacher looking for paid work in schools starting in February?

In the past two months Teaching Personnel have had an influx of vacancies for graduates with the ability to work as teaching assistants. This will enable you to gain paid experience working in your chosen school setting and undertake various specialist training regularly ready for a PGCE course in September 2019. Graduates interested in working as a teaching assistant will need to be/have;

  • Commitment to working full time as a teaching assistant all academic year
  • Knowledge of the education sector
  • Have experience in the education sector
  • Previous experience working with children in a school or similar capacity

Working as a graduate teaching assistant is excellent paid experience for those wanting to become teachers. Teaching Personnel work with mainstream primary school. Ideally you will be looking for work for the full academic year, however if you have other commitments such as travelling and want to gain experience on a supply basis, please still apply. Working as a teaching assistant will require you to take direction from teachers and other staff members, provide in class support during lessons, lead activities for small groups and also support children on an individual 1:1 basis, you may also (in time) be asked to lead lessons in the absence of teaching staff. Graduates will be given full support to be prepared for teacher training, Teaching Personnel have a partnership with a national teaching school who will hold several courses throughout the academic year, including; effective behaviour management, Mindfulness, and a SEN Carousel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
