Graduate Teaching Assistant

A client school in the Longsight area of Manchester (M12) are seeking a graduate teaching assistant to join their dynamic KS2 team on a full time basis. This Teaching Assistant role will start as soon as possible with the potential to run until the end of the academic year.

The role is to work in a two form entry primary school which was graded 'GOOD' at its last OFSTED inspection. The school are dedicated to continually raising standards and are aspiring towards 'OUSTANDING'. The head teacher and governors of the school are seeking a dedicated teaching assistant who can encourage learning across KS2 to help raise attainment across all subject areas.

The successful Teaching Assistant will work in Year 4 as a general teaching assistant, assisting the class teacher with the day to day runnings of the classroom. They will be required to support children's learning in all areas, following the KS2 National Curriculum under the direction of the class teacher. The ideal candidate will be required to run small group intervention sessions to lower achieving children to raise attainment in core subject areas.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A degree in a relevant field
  • Experience working with children
  • A passion for a career in education

The successful Teaching Assistant will be dedicated to influencing the learning of young people and will be passionate about education. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
