Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant on behalf of one our key partner secondary school which is located within the Bolton LEA.

The school are seeking to appoint an ambitious graduate who ideally wishes to pursue a career as a teacher in the secondary school teacher in the near future.

• Full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant required in September 2019.
• Competitive pay with approximate earnings of £1200 per month
• Employment is being offered on a fixed term 12 month basis
• Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred but not essential.

About the role:

Due to a number of current post-holders embarking on teacher training in September 2019, our client secondary school are seeking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant that is able to join them in the new academic year. The successful candidates will work closely with experienced staff members to ensure that students are well behaved and engaged in their learning during the short-term absence of teachers. Cover work will be supplied by the absent teachers and it will be the Graduate Teaching Assistants responsibility to use this as a basis to teach throughout the lesson. Excellent inter-personal skills are required for this post as successful candidates will be required to build good rapport with staff and students alike. This post is ideal for graduates with an interest in developing a career in teaching as the experience you can gain from this is first-hand, and also those who may have had experience within the education sector before hand.

Situated within the Bolton Council, the school neighbours the communities of Atherton, Leigh, Farnworth and Hindley. It is average in size with around 1000 pupils on roll with number increasing year to year due to the ever increasing reputation of the school. The vast majority of children are of white British heritage and the number of pupils with learning difficulties or a statement for special needs is below the national average. Located close to Westhoughton, the School is easily accessible as it is only a short drive from the M61 and has direct transport links to the surrounding areas.
