Job description

Full time graduate Teaching Assistant required on a temporary, full time basis until the end of the academic year for a Salford RC Secondary school.

Are you a recent graduate seeking experience working with young people within an educational capacity? Do you wish to pursuit a future teacher training course? If so this graduate Teaching Assistant position may be ideal for you.

Due to an influx of pupils requiring additional support within Key Stages 3/4 and GCSE, this Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' Roman Catholic Secondary school, are seeking a dedicated, hard working and enthusiastic graduate to work within their internal support team.

  • Full time Graduate Teaching Assistant position, from November 2018.
  • Must hold a minimum of a degree level qualification as well as prior experience working with young people.
  • Gain valuable practical experience within an education capacity.

  • Earn up to £1200.

The responsibilities of the Graduate Teaching Assistant will include;

  • Working with pupils at all levels of learning to ensure pupils remain engaged through Dynamic teaching and learning.
  • General cover responsibilities may also apply with full support and guidance.
  • Promoting inclusive learning and upholding the school values and ethos.
  • Positively managing behaviour in class in accordance with school behaviour policies.
  • Supporting pupils 1:1, in small groups and alongside the class teacher to work within your specialist area.

Salford is easily accessible via major motorway links M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also various public transport options readily available.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
