Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Graduates for a number of Graduate Teaching Assistant positions in Wigan after a high number of requests this school year.

We are working closely with a number of client Secondary schools to help them recruit Graduates who wish to get into teaching in the future and build their experience within a Secondary school setting prior to completing their teacher training.

Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Both full-time and part-time Graduate Teaching Assistant positions available
  • Required to start immediately with positions running until the new year
  • A great opportunity to enhance your experience working in Secondary schools and better prepare yourself prior to completing your teacher training
  • You can expect to earn between £1000-£1200 a month whilst gaining key experience
  • You will be working within schools that are committed to your development as a teacher

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will become a key part within the schools faculty providing support to the class teacher, helping them to keep students engaged and keeping noise levels to a minimum. You will have the opportunity to lead small intervention sessions to students within your specialist subject, working with small groups and students on a 1:1 basis providing tuition in order to raise attainment.

You may also have the opportunity to provide lesson cover in the absence of the class teacher in order to help you develop good classroom management skills which is perfect preparation prior to completing your teacher training.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
