Located in the vibrant Parrs Wood community, our secondary school is committed to nurturing an inclusive and supportive learning environment. We are searching for a devoted English Graduate Teaching Assistant to help underachieving students discover the magic of English language and literature.

Position Overview:

As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students who may be struggling with English. Working closely with our experienced teaching staff, you will inspire a love for the English language, boost student confidence, and nurture their literary skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small group support to underachieving students in English.
  • Collaborate with English teachers to create and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Cultivate an engaging and inspiring atmosphere for the study of English.
  • Adapt teaching materials to cater to individual learning styles and needs.
  • Offer encouragement and mentorship to bolster student self-belief and enthusiasm.
  • Monitor student progress and effectively communicate insights to teachers and parents.
  • Assist in the organization and preparation of English resources.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for English language and literature, and a desire to help underachieving students succeed.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in explaining literary concepts.
  • Patience, empathy, and an encouraging approach to teaching.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and a collaborative mindset.
  • Prior experience working with students, particularly as a teaching assistant, is advantageous but not mandatory.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
