Teaching Personnel are currently searching for Graduate Teaching Assistants to join the team at a number of schools in the North Manchester Area. If you have recently graduated and have an interest in becoming a teacher in the future, or have already thought about applying for a PGCE or similar teacher training programme, we want to hear from you!

  • Full time and part time hours available for September start
  • Get paid a weekly wage of up to £325 (dependent on experience)
  • Working at a number of schools in the North Manchester area
  • Automatically enrolled onto the Future Teachers Graduate Programme
  • Access to Teaching Personnel's further development and CPD training courses

Working within schools in North Manchester as a Graduate Teaching Assistant is a very rewarding yet challenging role. Each day you will face different challenges and opportunities for development as you learn from senior management and your peers how to effectively support pupils within a secondary school environment, helping them to develop not only as learners but as young people. Every day will be different but just a few of the roles and responsibilities that you can expect to face are:

  • Supporting pupils within the classroom and assisting them with any questions they have with work, offering good guidance and support in your specialist subject area.
  • Delivering effective behaviour management both inside and outside of the classroom and promoting good behaviour standards.
  • Working closely with the subject teacher, assisting in the planning, delivery and marking of classwork to prepare you for when you become a teacher.
  • Supporting pupils with a variety of specific needs, whether these are SEN, behaviour or learning related.

While working with Teaching Personnel as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be enrolled onto our Future Teachers Programme. This is a comprehensive scheme which will enable graduate teaching assistants to start their teacher training programmes with an advanced skill-set and comfortability working with students of mixed ages and abilities.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
