*Graduate Teaching Assistant opportunity working in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Twickenham starting this September!*

If you are living in Richmond or Wandsworth and available for work in September, we have an amazing opportunity for you!

Gain invaluable experience on the front-line working 1:1 with primary aged children diagnosed with autism as a special needs teaching assistant.

We are working closely with a school in Twickenham who are looking to appoint graduates with autism experience to support Year 5 and 6 pupils in a new class opening in September. The role is full-time 5 days a week and will be for one school term minimally to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with catch up learning, social development and care.

The successful graduate teaching assistant will need to be confident supporting pupils with English, Mathematics and Science. You will work as a SEN teaching assistant supporting children with autism with their individual learning and development programmes. Graduate teaching assistants will also assist with assessing, designing and planning these development programmes alongside therapists, senior staff and SEN specialists.

Successful graduate teaching assistants working in this school will be required to support children with personal care (toileting), therapies, feeding and/or medication when needed. With some pupils with additional developmental difficulties, speech and language needs and social needs alongside their autism diagnosis having SEN experience is highly beneficial.

If you have experience in any of the following send your CV today:

  • Recent Graduate (UK recognised degree only)
  • Autism spectrum condition, speech and language and/or emotional difficulties
  • Confidence supporting Year 5 and Year 6 pupils with English, Maths, Science and lessons across the national curriculum  
  • As an Early Years Practitioner or Nursery Assistant supporting children autism or EHCPs
  • On placement working with special needs, in hospitals and/or with children
  • Supporting with personal care, speech and language therapy and/or therapy
  • Using Makaton, PECS, TEACCH and/or signalong

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
