Graduate teaching assistant - Full time from September - Ideal for aspiring Secondary Teachers

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school in Chichester who have a long standing, successful SEN Department, and SCITT Programme. Due to an increase in demand, our partner school in Chichester are seeking to hire 3 graduate teaching assistants for September for the next academic year. This is a paid 12 month position which could lead you on to completing teacher training in September 2019 in your chosen subject. We are looking for dedicated and talented graduates to work in our partner school, to be considered you will need to be/have;

• A degree and A-levels in your desired subject for teaching (core/second tier subjects)
• Confident of working with children from a range of backgrounds aged 11-16
• Genuine desire to become a secondary school teacher and undergo regular training
• Knowledge of the education system (secondary schools) and an interest in teaching
• Previous experience working with children in a school or similar capacity

The Graduate Teaching Assistant role

You'll support class teachers in lessons by leading small groups, supporting individual pupils and in time mark work, prepare lessons and lead classes in the absence of teachers. During the year you will be required to attend school CPD (training) to develop your knowledge and ability within the classroom. This is a nationally recognised teaching school offering an unrivalled level of support to staff and students, you will be prepared effectively for teaching and a possible move on to your subject specific teacher training programme in September 2019.

This is a full time position commencing in September, with interviews required ASAP to be successful, you will need to have/apply for a DBS certificate and have sufficient references for vetting purposes.
