This friendly single form entry primary school in North London (by Harringay Station) are seeking a new Teaching Assistant to join their school from September. Ideally they are seeking a recent graduate keen to build their career in education. The school were graded 'Good' as of its most recent Ofsted inspection (October 2017) and are continually striving for improvement and excellence in all that they do.
You will be working to support across the school and as you build in confidence will have the opportunity to provide interventions and specialist support for individual pupils within class. This may involve working with students with Autism and ADHD and so some knowledge or experience with SEN would be ideal but as long as you have the right attitude the school is keen to hear from you!
The school is home to children and families from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures and celebrates their differences and similarities. Close partnerships between staff, parents and children help make the school a vibrant and exciting place to learn with a variety of enrichment activities including educational visits, workshops and extra curricular activities. They aim to be a welcoming, kind, supportive school creating pupils with a positive outlook on lifelong learning where children feel excited to learn every day.
The school has innovative links with a school for children with dyslexia, allowing for specialist teaching offsite part-time for some of their pupils and there will be opportunities for you to learn from their specialist experience. You will be joining a team of committed and dedicated staff who are enthusiastic and excited about working with all their students and families. You will make a valuable contribution to supporting pupils' progress by encouraging them to attempt work they find challenging and helping them to overcome any difficulties they may have.
Key requirements:
- A recent graduate or equivalent substantial experience
- A friendly and outgoing personality
- An interest in building a career in education
- Some knowledge of SEN and an interest in developing this further
If this sounds like the right role for you, the school are looking to interview on a rolling basis over the next three weeks so be sure to apply as soon as possible! For more details, please do call into the office on 02075933071
